The BEST Vegan Friendly Spots Near Denver

As a new vegan to Denver, I am making it my mission to try, and rate, all of the vegan friendly restaurants in the area. Use this list to discover the best vegan/vegetarian restaurants, find new spots for date night, and scope out vegan friendly meals near you.

1. City O City

75 Emerson St
Denver, CO 80218

Pizza Rolls Appetizer

City O City, a vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Capitol Hill, was my first vegan meal when I moved to Denver. The menu is full of fun, funky, and delectable vegan options that will satisfy vegans and non-vegans alike. And the best part? They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The menu ranges from iced lattes and vegan omelettes to philly churrasco cheesesteak, making it suitable for any time of the day. The flavors are bold, the plates are colorful, and the staff are welcoming. Check out the menu here.

2. Watercourse Foods

837 E 17th Ave
Denver, CO 80203

The Cuban Sandwich

Owned by the same people as City O City, Watercourse is a fully vegan restaurant with an extensive sandwich menu. Also in Capitol Hill, Watercourse always attracts a large lunch and dinner crowd. They too cater to the brunch crowd, but I have tried numerous things on the menu, and the sandwiches are the way to go; they leave nothing to be desired – they are packed with protein, layers of flavor, and always served up on perfectly crispy bread. Also, if you’re 21+, the seasonal cocktail list is phenomenal. Check out their menu here.

3. Vital Root

3915 Tennyson St
Denver, CO 80212

Bahn Mi Tacos

Vital Root, a more fast-food styled restaurant, is wellness-focused with a 99% plant-based menu. Located in the Mountain View area, Vital Root is housed in an old candy factory that is now revamped with multiple patios and ample amounts of greenery inside and out. On the menu, you will find anything from sweet potato pancakes to various nourish bowls, leaving you full of plant-based deliciousness and nutrients. The best part about Vital Root, in my opinion, are the happy hour deals. If you ever find yourself hitting the shops in this area of Denver, take a lunch break here — you won’t be disappointed!

4. So Radish

5711 Olde Wadsworth Blvd
Arvada, CO 80002

Kaleidoscope Salad

So Radish, located in Olde Town Arvada, is truly a hidden gem. Their menu ranges from giant, nutritious salads to comforting vegan dishes resembling home cooked meals (but elevated.) My favorite things on the menu are the country fried steak, the BBQ jackfruit sandwich, and the tempeh ribs. One thing I, as a vegan, appreciate is the vegan wine menu they offer. It truly sets them apart from the competition!

5. Blue Sushi Sake Grill

1616 16th Street Mall
Denver, CO 80202

The Eden Roll and the Cowgirl

As a vegan, finding quality sushi can be a challenge. So, when I discovered Blue Sushi Sake, I was dumbfounded by the amount of plant-based options (and the quality of them!) Located in LoDo, this restaurant is perfect for a date night, girls night, or even take out for one. The menu is not vegan, of course, but the plant-based options are funky, filling, and second to none in the area (my non vegan boyfriend was even in love with these rolls!) Check out their menu(s) here.
